Cover Reveal SEEKING HER by Cora Carmack

Once again, I am proud to be a part of Cora Carmack’s latest cover reveal! I am a HUGE fan of Cora’s work and I am beyond excited to showcase her latest novella, SEEKING HER.

I finished reading FINDING IT last weekend and I completely fell in love with Hunt and Kelsey (not to mention the fabulous places they visited)! Jackson Hunt is a superb leading man and I can’t wait to get inside his head!

So, without further ado……

SEEKING HER by Cora Carmack

A beautiful cover for what is to be an equally beautiful story! I’m mean, come on, it’s a new Cora Carmack book AND it’s told from Hunt’s POV! What could be more beautiful than that? Is it January yet? I don’t think I can wait!!!

About SEEKING HER

A few months after being honorably discharged from the military, Jackson Hunt is still struggling to adjust back to the real world. He needs to get a job and find a sense of normalcy if he’s going to keep his own demons at bay. The job that falls into his lap, though, is anything but normal.

Bodyguard (and baby-sitter) to spoiled-rich-girl Kelsey Summers isn’t exactly what he’d been looking for, but it’s a chance to travel, to get away from the home that has felt stifling ever since his return. It would be a pretty sweet gig if it weren’t for the fact that Kelsey’s father doesn’t want Kelsey to know she’s being followed. Hunt feels guilty (and a little bit creepy) as he watches her from afar. She’s vibrant and infuriating, exciting and reckless, mysterious and familiar. When he sees her falling into the same patterns that he suffered years ago, he decides it’s time to stop watching and help her instead. But getting to know her is more difficult than he thought, especially because the more he knows her, the more he wants her.

SEEKING HER hits bookshelves on January 28, 2014!

NaNoWriMo Whato?

Yeah, you heard me right. NaNoWriMo! What is NaNoWriMo you ask? Well, it stands for National Novel Writing Month. Every November, writers from all over the world vow to neglect reality for thirty days and live with the imaginary characters in their heads. From November 1st to November 30th a writer must complete the daily challenge of writing 1,667 words to reach the finish line with a 50,000 word novel by the end of the month! If you’re interested in participating in NaNoWriMo 2013, here’s the link to get started: www.nanowrimo.org. It’s not too late to start!

This is the first November I have taken up the challenge! I began writing my NaNoWriMo novel last night (November 1st) and I plan to work hard until the very last day (November 30th). Some days the words will flow onto the page like a torrential downpour and other days I may feel like I’ve walked miles in Death Valley with not a drop of water to spare. But, I’m dedicated to writing the novel in my head. My main character is already real to me and I owe it to him to write my 1,667 words each day. He wants to tell his story and I’m the vessel to do that! Griffin, I’m ready. Talk to me, baby!

Once upon a time I was a cheerleader and I’m still one at heart. I love to offer encouragement and cheer people on to victory! Go! Start your Nano, now! Write your story! It needs to be told! I believe in you! Even if you don’t end November with 50,000 words, you’ve already done more than someone who didn’t even try!

What are you still doing here? Go! Write! Wait a minute…what am I still doing here? I’ve got a novel to write too! Griffin’s waiting for me and those 1,667 words aren’t going to write themselves!

See you in the NaNoWriMo forums! Good luck and happy Nano-ing!

ULTRAVIOLET CATASTROPHE IS OUT TODAY!!!!!

Happy book birthday to ULTRAVIOLET CATASTROPHE by Jamie Grey! ULTRAVIOLET CATASTROPHE explodes onto bookshelves TODAY!!

onlycover_web

I was fortunate enough to be a part of Team UVC. Jamie provided her Team UVC members with an e-ARC several months ago. After reading ULTRAVIOLET CATASTROPHE, I was hooked; I am forever a member/fan of Team UVC!

My brief synopsis…

ULTRAVIOLET CATASTROPHE tells the story of Lexie Kepler, a seemingly normal high school student that learns her parents have drugged her in order to suppress her beyond genius level IQ.

As ULTRAVIOLET CATASTROPHE unfolds, Lexie is whisked away to Quantum Technologies, a secret scientific community where her father has lived and worked for much of Lexie’s life. Now, completely out of her element, Lexie is forced to attend Quantum High—a high school for the exceptionally gifted/smarty-pants types.

Lexie struggles to fit in with her über-competitive classmates, all the while trying to understand why her parents are so intent on hiding her identity from Branston Academy (Quantum Technologies rival).

To uncover the secrets behind Quantum Technology and Branston Academy, Lexie gets help from fellow classmate, Asher Rosen. Asher is QT’s resident nerd/hottie…and even Lexie isn’t immune to his infuriatingly beautiful smile and gifted brain.

Ultimately, Lexie and Asher will have to put their brainy heads together and figure out why scientists at Quantum Technologies end up dead. If they don’t, everything will end in an ULTRAVIOLET CATASTROPHE!

Why I love ULTRAVIOLET CATASTROPHE…

I loved UVC because it makes being smart and nerdy the cool thing to be! Often times, young adults are made fun of or bullied because they’re smart! Author Jamie Grey has written a story where being the smart kid is cool! And I LOVE it!

ULTRAVIOLET CATASTROPHE has it all…science, cool gadgets, intrigue, and a slow-building romance!! Don’t miss out on this fabulous novel, it will blow you away!!!

About the author, Jamie Grey…

Jamie Grey spent most of her childhood writing stories about princesses who saved the day and pretending to be a daring explorer. It wasn’t until much later that she realized she should combine the two. Now, as a tech-obsessed gamer geek, her novels mix amazing scientific developments, future worlds, and the remarkable characters that live in them.
Jamie lives in Michigan with her significant other and their pets, who luckily tolerate her overspending on tea, books, and video games. You can learn more about her athttp://www.jamiegreybooks.com, or follow her on twitter via @jamie_grey.

Cover Reveal: FINDING IT by Cora Carmack

I’m super excited to be participating in the cover reveal for Cora Carmack‘s forthcoming novel, FINDING IT!

FINDING IT (October 1, 2013)

findingit pb rv

Garrick and Bliss captured our hearts in LOSING IT. We cheered for Cade and Max in FAKING IT. Now it’s Kelsey’s turn in FINDING IT!

About FINDING IT:

Most girls would kill to spend months traveling around Europe after college graduation with no responsibility, no parents, and no limit credit cards. Kelsey Summers is no exception. She’s having the time of her life… or that’s what she keeps telling herself.

It’s a lonely business trying to find out who you are, especially when you’re afraid you won’t like the you that’s found. No amount of drinking or dancing can chase away Kelsey’s loneliness, but maybe Jackson Hunt can. After a few chance meetings, he convinces her to take a journey of adventure instead of alcohol. With each new city and experience, Kelsey’s mind becomes a little clearer, and her heart a little less hers. Hunt helps her unravel her own dreams and desires, but the more she knows about herself, the more she realizes how little she knows about him.

It’s All in the Voice CONTEST

Special thanks to Heather Webb for putting this blog hop together! Be sure to visit her blog for a list of all the blog hoppers that are participating in this contest: http://www.heatherwebb.net/blog

Below is my entry into “It’s All in the Voice” contest. My manuscript is titled, RUNWAY. It is a NA contemporary romance.

I stretched the tape across the last box of my belongings and took in the barren room. I was sure my sister was excited to have her guest bedroom returned to its sterile floral motif. It was no secret that my mere existence severely clashed with Jennifer’s lifestyle in general. She tolerated me at best, and I could tell by her demeanor this last week that she was ecstatic for my return to school. In all honesty, I couldn’t wait until I could afford a place of my own. I hated living with Jennifer, my two bratty nephews, and my sleaze ball brother-in-law.

I sighed and picked up the heavy box of books and balanced it on my hip. Outside, Griffin’s Harley rumbled in the driveway. I was glad he was here; he could carry the last box down to my car. I dropped it in the hallway and went to get the door.

Unable to withhold my excitement at his arrival, I threw open the front door and flung myself into his arms. “Hey, Jillibean!” he said, catching me.

“I’m so glad you’re here!”

“I wouldn’t turn down the opportunity to spend 18 and a half hours in the car with you.”

I hugged him tightly. I would be so lost without him.

“Are you ready?” he asked.

“Not yet. I have one more box inside. Could you get it for me? It’s kind of heavy.”

“I’m on it.”
